Feature Friday: Judith Edwin – “E’s Garden Teahouse & Things”
For our first-ever #FeatureFriday, we are proud to present Judith Edwin, who owns “E’s Garden Teahouse and Things,” one of the amazing stops on our tour of the Historic Main Street, in downtown Charlotte Amalie.
At E’s Garden Teahouse and Things, we sa
mple their Saltfish or Codfish Quiche, an island twist on a traditional quiche, and it is an absolute guest favorite on the tour! We wash it down with some Raspberry Hibiscus Tea, which Judith makes the morning before the tour. It is served chilled with a small salad.
Judith is a lifelong resident of the U.S. Virgin Islands with deep roots in the community.
One of our local post offices is named after her father, and she served as a Vice Provost at the University of the Virgin Islands for many years before opening E’s.Our guests especially appreciate her sharing the history of the area and how Charlotte Amalie has transformed in the years that her family has resided there.
If you’re looking for a relaxing space just right off of the hustle and bustle of Main Street, then E’s Garden Teahouse and Things is where you should visit! The walls are adorned with paintings from local artists and various teas are featured along the wall for her customers to choose from.
You’ll probably be there a while, and that’s ok because there’s always someone to chat with over a pot of tea and one of their Mango, Passion Fruit or Guava Cakes. If you stay for lunch, try one of their hearty sandwiches and salads, you won’t regret it.
To top it all off, her friend Shammie has a small women’s clothing boutique, right inside the teahouse, where she sells classy, trendy styles. Delicious treats and fashion too?! Yes, please!
